WYC 056 – Sport Sampling - Steve Boyle - Life is 2 Short for Just 1 Sport

Today’s guest is Steve Boyle.  Steve is one of the leaders in the sport sampling iniatitive – in 2008 he and his wife Kerry founded a program called 241 Sports which allows kids to sample many different sports over a short period – this program was recently recognized by the Aspen Institute’s Project Play as 1 of 8 model programs in the United States.

One huge idea I took from Steve was in the 1st quarter when he talks about it being OK to be both a parent and a coach on the field with your own kid. Another huge idea was in the 3rd quarter when he discusses over 3,000 post-season letters from his players that he has collected.  And in the 4th quarter Steve probably shared one of the most insightful perspectives I have heard about how to approach winning. I hope you enjoy his insights and stories!
